My Journey
If you asked me in September 2021 what I wanted more than anything, the answer would've been simple.
I wanted to look like David Laid.
At 18 years old, weighing just 56kg, I was the definition of skinny. Like so many people getting into the gym, I wasn't chasing health or strength—I was chasing the physique I saw online. To me, David Laid represented the pinnacle of what a male physique could become, and I was determined to build something even remotely close.
The problem?
I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.
My first year of training was full of mistakes. I did far too much volume, chose poor exercises, ego lifted whenever I got the chance, and my nutrition was nowhere near where it needed to be. Looking back, I spent more time doing things that felt productive than things that actually produced results.
The biggest mistake of all, though, was inconsistency.
Between February and June 2022, there were periods where I barely trained at all. Some months I'd only make it into the gym once or twice. Every time I'd build momentum, I'd lose it again. I wanted an incredible physique, but my actions weren't matching my goals.
Eventually, I realised motivation wasn't enough. If I wanted to look like the people I admired, I needed to start learning from them.
I became obsessed with researching training. I watched creators like Alex Eubank, Joe Fazer, Brandon Harding and many others, trying to understand why their training worked. Slowly, my workouts became more structured. I finally had a proper split, I was choosing exercises recommended by some of the biggest names in fitness, and for the first time, I felt like I was actually training with purpose instead of just turning up.
Around 15 months into my journey, everything changed.
A new gym opened in my town, so in December 2022 I decided to switch.
That move gave me something I'd never had before, a gymbro.
Every night at 9pm we'd train together. He followed my split, we pushed each other every session, and week after week we both started building physiques people actually noticed.
But "good" was never my goal.
I didn't want to settle for looking decent.
I wanted to build the best physique I possibly could.
By July 2023 our schedules had changed and we couldn't train together anymore. Around the same time, another gym opened nearby, so I made another move.
This gym was completely different.
For the first time, I was training in what I'd call a real bodybuilding gym.
Rows of Nautilus machines replaced the old equipment I was used to. Every machine felt smoother, every movement felt better, and suddenly I had access to equipment specifically designed to maximise muscle growth.
It completely reignited my passion for training.
Every workout had intent.
Every set was pushed harder than the last.
I stopped going through the motions and started chasing progression every single session.
By now I was almost three years into my journey. I'd spent years discovering which exercises actually worked for me, which ones didn't, how to structure training properly, and most importantly, how to build an aesthetic physique rather than simply becoming stronger.
I was obsessed with creating that classic V-taper.
The kind of physique that made people think of names like David Laid, Alex Eubank and Adam Yu.
After years of trial and error, I finally trusted myself enough to write my own complete training program.
That winter, from December 2023 through to April 2024, I committed to my first proper bulk.
The results exceeded anything I thought was possible.
My deadlift climbed from 190kg to 240kg.
My bench reached 135kg.
My squat hit 160kg.
Numbers that once felt impossible had become reality.
More importantly, my physique changed faster than it ever had before.
That's when I knew my system worked.
Since then, I've continued refining everything.
I've tested different workout splits.
I've experimented with exercise selection.
I've adjusted training frequency, volume and progression methods.
Every program taught me something new until eventually I arrived at the split you're looking at today.
The exact system I use now.
A six-day program built around maximising muscle growth while creating the most aesthetic physique possible.
Everything inside this program has a purpose.
Every exercise is there for a reason.
Every rep range, every set, every progression method has been chosen because I've spent years discovering what consistently delivers results.
This isn't a program built from theory.
It's built from five years of trial and error.
Five years of making mistakes so you don't have to.
This is the blueprint I wish I had when I started.
Now it's yours.
